This project explores the rich chronological narrative of exo-planetary research, from the first confirmed detections in the early 1990s to the groundbreaking observations enabled by next-generation space observatories. The site is designed to inform and engage users through an archive of space telescope history, a simplified knowledge hub, and an interactive timeline tracing the evolution of space-optical technology and major events in space research. Design choices were inspired by the cosmos, and a reinvention of established interfaces used in active space agencies. Developed in Figma and Framer, it features 10 functional pages and an interactive timeline.
Wire-framing and mapping flow of dense content
Designing logo and iconography, referencing optics and star charts
Building an interactive timeline model based on space observation
Implementation of a dark, free-form, data-driven visual theme
